What is the Google AI Plus student offer?

It is a free Google AI Plus membership for students. Google’s Gemini page for students in Pakistan says it gives you Gemini with 2x higher usage limits, 400 GB of cloud storage, access to Gemini Omni, and unlimited uploads for study notebooks, visuals and Gemini Live.

The free period is 12 months from the day you redeem the offer. After that, Google charges Rs 1,400 a month unless you cancel first. Features and limits can change, so read Google’s page on the day you sign up.

Who can get it in Pakistan?

You can get it from Pakistan if you are at least 18, enrolled at a higher education institution, able to pass Google’s student check, and have a personal Google account and a payment method. Google’s offer terms, last updated 19 August 2026, say you must:

You do not qualify if you are in a family group, buy for an enterprise, have a discounted Pixel bundle subscription, or get Google One through a third party such as Google Fi. A supervised account does not qualify, and the offer does not work on a school-issued Workspace for Education account. Google’s page adds that new users, and students whose 2025 AI Pro trial has ended, may be eligible, and that you must be re-verified each year to keep access. Google decides eligibility, and we cannot promise an outcome.

What should you have ready before you start?

A little preparation avoids a failed attempt. Gather these first:

How do you claim it, step by step?

  1. Open Google’s student page. Go to gemini.google/pk/students and choose the option to claim your free student membership.
  2. Sign in with your personal Google account. Use the account you want the membership on.
  3. Verify your student status. Google uses SheerID for this. Follow its prompts and upload what it asks for.
  4. Add a payment method. Google requires one at sign-up. You are not charged during the free period.
  5. Redeem the offer. Do this on or before 31 December 2026, which is Google’s redeem-by date.
  6. Set a cancel reminder. To avoid the monthly charge, cancel before the 12 months end.

What happens when the free year ends?

On the date your offer period ends, Google charges your payment method the standard monthly price, Rs 1,400 at the time of writing, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time. If you cancel during the free year, your membership may stay active until the end of the offer period.

Two details from Google’s terms are worth knowing. If you cancel and your Google account is over its storage limit, you will need to delete files or buy a plan before you can store anything new. And usage limits on the offer may differ from a paid plan and can change without notice.

What if you are rejected?

Google does not publish a list of rejection reasons, so start with the requirements above. Check these first: an age under 18, a school-issued or supervised account, an existing Google One subscription through a third party, or a student check that could not confirm your enrolment.

This part is our own advice, not Google’s. If SheerID asks for a document, send a clear photo that shows your name, your institute and a current date, with the whole page in the frame. Then try again with a personal account.

Do not use a fake or edited student ID. Some guides online suggest it. Google’s terms say that breaking them makes the offer invalid, and your account could be affected.

Is there a student discount for everyday life too?

The same idea, a one-time check that you are a student, applies to everyday prices in Pakistan. The Uni Deals is a free platform where you verify once and use the same pass for food, fashion, getting around and study tools. Create your account to get verified, or read our guide to student discounts in Pakistan. If you write code, see our GitHub Student Developer Pack guide too.
