Student card in Pakistan: what it is and how to get one
Updated 14 October 2026
A student card is the simplest proof that you are enrolled. This guide explains what it is, what it is good for, how to get or replace one, and where a free digital pass from The Uni Deals fits in.
What is a student card in Pakistan?
A student card, also called a student ID card, is the card your university or college gives you once you are enrolled. It usually shows your name, your institute, a photo and a date or session.
It belongs to your institution, so each one looks different and follows its own rules. There is no single national student card in Pakistan.
What can you use a student card for?
A student card proves that you are enrolled. On campus it gets you through the gate, into exams and into the library. Off campus it is the proof many shops, cafes and brands in Pakistan ask for before they give you a student price, so keep it with you. Most universities expect you to carry it for:
- Entering the campus and your classrooms.
- Borrowing books from the library.
- Sitting exams, where you may be asked to show it.
Beyond campus, it can earn you a lower price where a brand chooses to offer one. That might be a shop, a cafe or a transport service. Nothing makes a brand do this, so it helps to ask politely and have the card in your hand. Our guide to student discounts in Pakistan covers who qualifies and what to expect.
How do you get or replace a student card?
Your university issues it, so start there. The usual places to ask are your admissions office or your student affairs office. They can tell you what to bring, whether there is a fee and how long it takes.
If you lose your card, report it to the same office as soon as you notice. Ask what they need before you go, because each institute sets its own process. We do not know the steps or fees for your university, and we would rather not guess.
Keep a clear photo of both sides of your card on your phone. If you ever need to prove you are a student, a fee slip, an enrolment letter or a transcript works too.
Is there an ISIC card in Pakistan?
The International Student Identity Card, or ISIC, is a student card run by the ISIC Association. The association lists an appointed office for Pakistan, GTS Alive ME DMCC. In 2012, Bank Alfalah announced a co-branded ISIC debit card with a partner company.
We could not confirm that the Bank Alfalah card is on offer today, and we do not know what any ISIC card costs here. If you want one, ask the bank or the ISIC office directly before you plan around it.
What is the digital student pass on The Uni Deals?
The digital student pass on The Uni Deals is a free pass on your phone that proves you are a student in Pakistan. You verify once, with a university email or a photo of your proof of enrolment, and the same pass then opens every student price on the platform, online and in store. There are two routes:
- A recognised university email. If your address is at a Pakistani university we recognise, you are verified the moment you press the button.
- Proof of enrolment. Send a photo of a student card, fee slip or challan, an enrolment or admission letter, or a transcript with its header. A person on our team reviews it, usually within a day.
The pass works in store and online. In store, you show it at the till. Online, you reveal a code for your own account. It does not replace your university card. It is a pass you carry on your phone for discounts. The full answers are on the support page.
University card, ISIC or The Uni Deals pass: how do they compare?
- University student card. Issued by your university or college. The cost depends on your institute. It works on campus, and off campus wherever a brand accepts it.
- ISIC. Issued through the ISIC Association's network. We could not confirm the cost or how to get one in Pakistan today.
- The Uni Deals pass. Issued by The Uni Deals after you verify. It is free. It works for the offers on our platform, in store and online.
You can hold all three, because each does a different job. Your university card proves you are enrolled at your institute. An ISIC card is an international student ID issued through the ISIC Association's network. The Uni Deals pass is free and opens verified student prices in Pakistan.
